On Saturday we went to Austin, MN to visit Nick's side of the family. We hadn't been down since Christmas and wanted to make it there before the baby is born. Nick's brother's family (Brent, Sarah, Drew, Nolan and Wally!) also came down so it was a houseful! Brooks' cousin Drew is four weeks older than him so you can imagine what the weekends are like when two 2-year-olds want to play with the same exact toys. They are however, getting better at sharing, especially since Christmas....that weekend was tough but I won't get into that. Here is a clip of the two boys riding on a rocking horse Grandpa found in the closet.
Grandma Barnett made a fabulous Saturday supper and we got to spend time with Nick's aunt, cousins and their kids. We spent the night and made a brave trip home in the winter storm on Sunday. It was SCARY. There were several times we didn't know whether we were on the right side of the road due to the combo of blowing white-out conditions and the roads not being plowed. What usually takes about 1 hour 50 minutes took 4 and a half hours to get home, including a lunch break so Nick could relax his arms from the tense grip he had on the steering wheel. Overall, it was a very fun weekend. Just look at how tired out Brooks and Macy were!
Brooks has a fat lip from running with the big kids. Gotta watch out for those door handles lil man.
Who knew dogs could live such rough lives!
